Energy and Environment Centre (EEC) focuses on environmental related researches and technologies. It plays a major role in environmental management, environmental protection and sustainable product-service, and resource recovery efficiency. The environmental protection and sustainable product-service are equipped with MS 17025 accredited laboratories provide full analytical testing services covering water quality, air quality, health hazard and toxicity. The laboratories are also certified to OECD/GLP for mutagenicity study by National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) and environment toxicity studies on behaviour in water, soil and air by Department of Standard Malaysia (DSM).
Environmental management employs life cycle thinking approach in finding practical ways for saving water, energy, materials and reducing negative environment impacts of products services. Generally, our research and services help to contribute to sustainable living and reducing carbon footprint. Eco Materials Technology prioritizes on resource efficiency and sustainable utilization of natural resources and waste materials by resource recovery, developing materials for sustainability of marine ecosystem and bio-economy including consultancy and materials testing services.
The major focus areas of EEC are Environmental Management, Eco-Material Technology, Emerging Technologies for Pollution Abatement and Sustainable Product-Service shifting customer preferences toward continuous sustainability.
